Weekend in Lincoln | Sister comes to visit.

Last weekend my sister, Elli, came to visit me in Lincoln. She’s never stayed the night with me before in my uni house so it was really nice for her to come up and have a proper visit. The weekend pretty much consisted of eating, eating and eating so I thought I’d do a blog post to review some of the places we went/things we did and to include all my favourite things to do in Lincoln!

When she arrived we went to go get some lunch at Wildwood. I’ve visited the Wildwood in Nottingham but never the one in Lincoln so it was nice to do something new too! I ordered the chicken burger, and Elli had a mushroom and truffle oil pizza, both with an Aperol Spritz. We both thought it was delicious and the portion sizes were really big (which is always a plus).

Last weekend my sister, Elli, came to visit me in Lincoln. She’s never stayed the night with me before in my uni house so it was really nice for her to come up and have a proper visit. After our feast we decided to go and visit the Cathedral (an obvious must-do to anyone who is visiting in Lincoln) and hopefully it’d burn off some of our huge lunch. The cathedral is free to visit after 4.30pm, so we went and had a look around and obviously it was as spectacular as ever! We were tempted to visit the Castle too however it was getting a bit late so we decided to head back home and get ready for dinner.

For dinner we went for Prezzo, just because I wanted Elli to see the pretty waterfront in the evening. For started we had the antipasti board. I couldn’t rave about this enough! It was absoloutly delicious. For mains I opted for the baked chicken carbonara and Elli the plain carbonara. The food was deeeeeee-licious.

Drinks time! We visited the Electric Bar at DoubleTree by Hilton, If you haven’t been here and you’re visiting/live in Lincoln you really must, even if its just for a ride in the glass elevator. The drinks are quite pricey, but its definitely worth it for the views! We went for a few more drinks in town and ended up in a club dancing to Grease Lightening, but it was a really good night! (from what I can remember.)

The next morning obviously started with more food: Brunch. We went to Madame Waffle, which I can’t believe I haven’t been to before!! I had the Madame Waffle fry up and a tea, and Elli had the smoked salmon and scrambled egg waffle with a latte. If you’re a brunch kinda person, definitely try madame waffle, its got three floors so tons of seating and the portion size is really good for the price!

We then went to visit the The Collection Gallery and The Usher Gallery. Studying Fine Art meant I was pretty familiar with these galleries, but I know so many other students that have never been. The galleries are free to go to and have some really great exhibitions and artifacts to have a look at! Me and Elli even went as far as trying on the outfits on too…

And that rounds our weekend off, it was so lovely to see Elli whilst I was at uni and I really enjoyed showing her some of my favourite spots in Lincoln! What are your favourite things to do in Lincoln?

Thanks for reading X
