Hello lovelies! Firstly apologies for the lack of posts recently – I’ve been absolutely useless at managing my time and I’ve been really busy at work and kind of pushed my blog to the back. I’m a lot more active on Instagram so to stay updated make sure you’re following me on there (@carrie_pendle)! But anyway, we’re back again with some skincare chat (my fave!)

Today I’ve got a post that I’ve had in my drafts for a little while and its all about three products from one of my favourite skincare brands, Dermalogica. These products have all been gifted to me as part of their Skinfluencer program, however I’m under no obligation to write a blog post.. I just really love their skincare! I’d heard lots of great things about Dermalogica – and after seeing Toff become one of the abassadors, and knowing about her skincare journey, I really wanted to give them a go… so when I received an email about joining their skinfluencer programme I was 100% on board!

As you may or may not know I suffer with acne and have had lots of ups and downs with my skin in the last year. I fully believe that you don’t understand how bad acne can affect your everyday life until you suffer with it. So many products will break me out and make my skin worse so it’s amazing when I find regimes that help my skin rather than hinder!

The two products I use to cleanse with is the Dermalogica ‘Pre-cleanse’, which is an oily-ish formula which literally melts off even the most stubborn waterproof make up or really staining products like matte red lipstick (the struggles). I put this straight onto my dry face with dry hands and work it around to start breaking down the make-up. I then add a little water to my hands which makes a more milky formula, and then rinse off, ready for step 2 of my cleansing.

The second product is the ‘Special Cleansing Gel’ which I apply to my still damp face (from rinsing off the pre-cleanse). The aim of this cleanser is to wash your skin without drying out, which is really important to me as I am still using Benzoyl Peroxide for my acne which really dries your skin out, so I don’t want a really harsh cleansing routine that will dry it further. I find that using those two steps achieves the cleanest face I have ever managed to get. Sounds silly, but do you know the feeling when you feel completely fresh-faced. Maybe it’s a slight placebo effect of using two products but either way my skin feels perfectly clean without being too tight and dry.

The third Dermalogica product I love is the ‘Daily Microfoliant’ exfoliator. Obviously, the name implies that this should be used everyday, however my skins so sensitive at the moment I don’t like to bombard it with too much, so I do this step two or three times a week. This exfoliant shakes out of the bottle as a loose white grainy powder, I use around half a teaspoon and a little water to create a thin paste, and massage this into my face. This exfoliate is perfect for me as it’s not too harsh which means I can use it even if I am having a breakout as it won’t irritate my acne! If you don’t suffer with acne I think this would be a lovely everyday exfoliate which would gently rejuvenate your skin without feeling like its scratching your skin raw!

All of these products are vegan and cruelty free which is great, and although they suggest they last around three months I’ve been using mine for just under 4 now and still have product left, which makes the price much more justifiable I think!
If you want to try these or read a little bit more about them here is the link to the three of them on the Dermalogica website; Pre-cleanse, Special cleansing gel and Daily Microfoliant. I honestly cannot recommend them enough!

I’m still using and loving the products in my last skincare post too, and still use the PMD right after these 3 steps! If you haven’t read that post I’ll link it here as it has some of my other favourite products which help combat my acne as much as possible and explains a little bit more about my acne and journey!

Thank you so much for reading, and if you have any skin recommendations or just wanna have an acne chat (we all need a lil moan sometimes) drop me a message! x
