My Tanning Routine & 3 Favourite Products*

tanning routine

I don’t think I’ve actually ever written a blog post on my favourite tanning products, and since recently trying out a few new bits & bobs I think I have finally nailed my tanning process. If I’m not feeling lazy I’ll tan once a week (but quite often I’m feeling lazy and just skip weeks). However now it’s autumn, I’ll definitely be seeing less sun and can’t cling on to the slight tan I got from my holiday… it’s time to step up my tanning routine and try to look a little less ghostly. I’ve linked all the product names incase you wanna get your hands on them!

For tanning my body my new favourite tan is from UTAN, and its the Turbo mousse*. I was kindly gifted this item but its definitely a new favourite for a few reasons. Firstly the smell, forget the horrible biscuit scent this tan is in the scent ‘cherry almond’ and honestly I have never smelt a tan so good. It smells like fizzy cherry sweets and I’m obsessed. It has a really nice buildable cover and blends effortlessly. I always apply my tan with the Bondi Sands tanning mitt, it’s so so good for buffing in your tan, and it makes such a difference using a nice velvet-y mitt rather than a cheap £1 Primark mitt, trust me.

For a mid-week tanning top up, and for my face (if I tan my face which I quite often skip all together) I use Tan Luxe drops. These are pretty pricey, but a little goes a long way and they always last me much longer than I expect. You just add a few drops to your usual moisturiser, I use a Korres body milk as this absorbs really quickly rather than leaving a thick sticky cream all over my skin. I love Tan Luxe as the routine seems so effortless as it’s essentially just a body moisturise, and it doesn’t stain any of my bedding or clothing like other tans. The only downside is that there is no colour guide, so you kinda have to memorise where you’ve moisturised and make sure you rub it in really well. The more you get used to it, the easier it becomes.

Let me know if you give any of these products a go, and any other tanning recommendations I’d love to hear them! As always, thanks for reading! x
